Can I vent a bathroom out an attic wall vent?
I have a second story bathroom that has moisture problems from showers. I want to install a bathroom vent. I cannot terminate it out the roof because the roof is too high and steep. I cannot use a soffet vent because the roof is too steep to get at it from the attic and the soffit too high to reach from a ladder. I have roof vents and vents on the walls (gable vents?). Can I vent the bathroom out of one of the wall vents in the attic?

- if you put in a fan and flue type pipe
- As long as the hot steamy air goes outside and doesn't vent INTO the attic, you should be ok. What you want to avoid venting directly into the attic and trapping all that moist air in there to allow mold to grow.
- A vent is a vent. If it is your building/attic you should be able to run a flexable 4" dryer tubing from your bathroom fan. Just installing a vent will only let hot and cold air into your space. You may also want to consider installing a simple outside dryer vent at the end of the tubing that has shutters on it. This would help to keep critters and cold air out of your bathroom. This is mostly air and sometime light moisture so just getting it close to your existing attic vent should be just fine. Hope this helps.
- google" through the wall bathroom vents"
