2. if you have dont had experience doing this be very careful...best advice would be to call a roofer
3. they are not hard to replace, you of course will need a replacement, if you can't find one, rebuild that one, put a mesh wire on the back which is to the inside. will keep birds out. or just build your own, reminder, dont lose the stability of the wall. there should however be nothing that is supporting there
