Is there something in the air? My reciepts are turning pink,?

My eyes usually sting when I enter the Rental. I figure something chemical is going on. The house is old, drafty, and ventilation for Natural gas heat is very poor.

1. Most receipt printers in production for the last five+ years use thermal paper. The printers essentially burn or etch the text onto the paper. This thermal paper tends to discolor with various temperature changes or even when left in bright light. To see if your receipts are on this paper just run your finger nail across the paper and if it turns black that could be the problem.
