What plants/flowers can keep away mosquitoes, flies & other insects away?
I want to know what specific plant or flower can keep away the insects from my house which could also give highlight to the beautiful view instead of using window & door screens which could block natural ventilation.

- There is a type of geranium that is used for keeping mosquitoes away. They have an almost lemony smell to them that mosquitoes do not like. It has small lilac colored flower. They work great at keeping mosquitoes away we have used them for a couple years around our patio and dog kennels. They only keep mosquitoes away. I wouldn't think a screen would block much, if any natural ventilation. I would much prefer that to having flies indoors.
- It is said that Pennyroyal is good at keeping mosquitoes, flies, rats, etc. away, it's easy to grow, just keep it in a pot/s because it will spread out of control.
- Unfortunately there is not easy answer for your question. Some plants have smells which insects do not like but you would need a whole truck load to accomplish your task. And the air would smell so bad you would not want to be anywhere near. There are repellents you can use but the screen door is the best solution.
